Habitat Lamp
Soap stone, glass, steel, plastic, tin, light fixture
32 × 29 x H59cm

The Habitat Lamp series explores the allure of otherworldly existence through a distinctive lens. Each lamp carries the name of a potentially habitable exoplanet, making us ponder the concept of intelligent life beyond Earth. The sculpted stone bases of these lamps exhibit a range of colours and textures, reminiscent of the diverse terrains that exist in our universe. The organically shaped metal stems gracefully connect to the lamp shades, which are shaped by plastic domes surrounded with a ring of copper foiled glass edges. By touching the cast metal element on the front of the lamp, light is dispersed through the lamp shade creating an ambient setting.
