India Mahdavi
’Chaise Afro’ Chair
Metal structure, nylon
L53 x D53 x H80 cm

The Afro Chair is built in Togo from a resistant, recyclable and batch-dyed polypropelene fishing wire. The rebar framework, around which the wire is braided, is welded and shaped by hand.

The Afro Chairs come in two distinct colourways: a bicolour version in which the backrest’s and the seat’s vibrant colours complement each other, and a tartan version, in which the pattern is braided across the seat and backrest. This light and friendly chair also exists as a stool - both are stackable and conducive to outdoors.

The Afro Chair galvanizes an office, illuminates a kitchen and diversifies a living room. Whether in small or large spaces, they are ideal for improvised situations.
